A Fairy Tale of My Own ♥

A Fairy Tale of My Own ♥

Everybody is looking for a prince, their other half, their one, true love to come sweep them off their feet.  Life can be cruel and make us stop believing in fairy tales.  But every great love story keeps telling to keep wishing on stars, to hope that there is true love somewhere out there and that there is someone who makes life beautiful.  Though it's hard to believe, modern day fairy tales do exist.  I should know.  This is a story of a girl and a boy who fell in love.

Once Upon a Time, that's how all the best stories start, isn't it? Well, once upon a time, there was a girl.  She met the most wonderful boy.  He showed her how to really live, to smell the flowers and to play.  They went on so many adventures together and she had the best summer of her life.  They fell in love.  It's so easy when it's your best friend.  One day he realized that he never wanted to be with anyone else.  This is when he decided to make their story into a fairytale.

On July 6th, Sean took me on a surprise date.  He drove me down to our favorite theater, Disney's El Capitan Theater to go see Brave.  We walked into the theater and sat in our seats. The gaudy theater had colorful lights, shimmering curtains, and Disney music played by the organist.  The mood was enchanting.  The stage was set for a magical night. Sean excused himself to go to the men’s room, and I sat there waiting.  As the time ticked by moments began to feel like hours the closer it got to the starting time.  I looked at the clock and it was 6:59. Only one minute left.  Then a man went up to the stage and began to speak, "We're having a prize giveaway tonight.  I have everyone's seat number in this bucket, so make sure you know which seat you're in."  He fished through the bucket and called seat, "H108".  To my surprise, that was my row and I looked at the gold lettering on my seat to see 108.  I got up and the man invited me to join him.  He asked me my name and where I was from.  He then exclaimed, "I haven't even told you what you've won! Come onstage with me."  I followed him onto the majestic stage with the silky curtain.  He then told me that to receive my prize I would have to do one thing.  I began to reel and my head began to race with concerns: he's going to ask me trivia and I'm not going to know the answer, or maybe he's going to make me do something embarrassing onstage.  He must have seen the look of horror on my face because he then told me that all I had to do was say, "Raise the curtain."  Relief swept over me.  “I've got this,” I thought.  “Raise the curtain,” I said.

As the curtain raised, I saw my prize.  It was my very own prince.  Sean was standing there with another curtain of silver streamers sparkling behind him.  He walked up to me and gave me a hug.  He then told our story of how we fell in love and he turned to me and told me how much he loves me.  He got down on one knee and asked the question that all little girls dream of being asked someday, "Will you marry me?" I said yes and we kissed.  The crowd cheered and we smiled. We were happy because we knew that we would have each other forever and that we would live happily ever after ♥
